INTEGRATIVE COUNSELLING
My approach
I offer brief and long term counselling for individuals, in person and via telephone. My integrative approach brings together elements of psychosynthesis, psychodynamic theories, attachment theory, cognitive and behavioural theories, with humanistic values. I am also able to integrate creative therapies, mindfulness and hypnotherapy where appropriate. This approach provides flexibility in order to best meet individual needs, whilst holding the therapeutic relationship at its core, creating a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space to explore issues.
Issues
Individuals seek counselling for a variety of reasons, sometimes in response to a specific event, during a period of change, to explore patterns of behaviour or difficult feelings, for issues relating to the past or present.
Some of the issues I work with include:
depression, low mood and difficult feelings
anxiety and stress, (including work or academic related stress)
low self-esteem, confidence and identity issues
relationship issues including friends, family and partnerships
trauma and abuse (emotional, physical or sexual)
childhood issues
bereavement, grief, separation and loss
issues relating to gender identity and sexual diversity
transitions such as preparing for University
substance use: alcohol or drug issues
personal and creative development
Please contact me to discuss the issues for which you're seeking counselling to explore how we might work together.
